Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life or another inch to his height? Matthew 6:27

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life or another inch to his height? Matthew 6:27

I have learned that I have to stop worrying about things over which I have no control.  I also realize that many of us worry needlessly and we all need to stop this. One of the things that we have no control over is how other people feel about us; even within our own families. Because of an incident or a poor choice that may have happened years ago or last week, someone has decided that he or she has to distance themselves from us.

What control do you actually have over how someone else feels? A mature Christian loves a person where they are and we come to the reality that we cannot change them, only God can. Your obsessing over something you can not change will not add one day to your life or make the problem go away. Re-living an incident over and over through the re-telling of the story in your mind will not change the facts, but will add to the hurt.

Jesus built a bridge with a cross to help us find truth, healing, recovery and forgiveness.  He has shown us how to cross that deep divide from sin, hurt, and pain to forgiveness and peace.  There is hope, ask God to help you and if you need to, seek godly council from your pastor or someone that is grounded in the Word of God. Don’t just pretend that your pain doesn’t exist.  It won’t just disappear.  You need to invite God your Creator into your life and share your problems with Him.  He loves you and cared about you so much that He sent His only Son to come to this world to teach and die for us to pay the penalty for our sins. Thank you Lord!

Today, keep yourself focused on Kingdom work that God has called you to. You can make an eternal difference today in many lives around you for the cause of Jesus Christ if you will just let go and let God be God. He is not just the Creator; He is also the One who restores relationships and people.
